You’re in the right place.

Welcome to the new face of the Rhea PT blog, But First: Pelvic Health. I am your host, Dr. Savannah—pelvic health detective, nerd, and advocate. I have been writing about pelvic health on the internet since 2023, the founding year of Rhea Physical Therapy. Although this website and blog space are new, my practice and my passion are not. Pelvic health, especially that of women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and children, has been lighting me up since my first year of physical therapy school. Today, being a pelvic health provider, educator, and advocate is as much a part of my identity as being a mother. For me there is no question: pelvic health is foundational to living well. Pelvic health comes first.

I started Rhea Physical Therapy just two years out of PT school. I was fed up with the healthcare system and sick of surrendering my freedom—professional and personal—to insurance companies and the bottomline of giant hospital networks. I could see that if I kept on grinding away in that toxic environment I would burnout quickly. Like so many of my classmates, I would be pushed to leave behind the career I loved.

I was determined not to let that happen. Instead of going into something like medical sales or computer programming (real things people I graduated with actually did after just two years as PTs), I decided to start my own practice. I knew that doing so was the only way I could reclaim my freedom as a physical therapist and as an individual.

Rhea Physical Therapy was born as a mobile practice in the summer of 2023. Fast forward three years, and we—not just me!—are serving clients from across the entire St. Louis metro area in our office in Brentwood. The growth of my practice has been exciting, daunting, and fun, but more importantly, it has allowed me to live fully, on my terms, and it has empowered me to help others do the same.

If you’ve found your way here, I assume you are struggling with your pelvic health in some way, or maybe you want to be proactive about upcoming changes in your life—the birth of your child, a transformative surgery, or a new life stage. Whatever it is, know that you’re in the right place. At Rhea Physical Therapy, you will be greeted with compassion and genuine concern for not just your pelvic health, but for your quality of life. You will be cared for by someone who truly loves helping you feel better, reach your goals, and do what lights you up. At Rhea Physical Therapy, your well-being comes before all else, before insurance requirements and before our revenue. Here, you come first.
