Pediatric Bowel Issues
At Rhea PT, we understand that your child’s bowel problems can affect your entire family, holding you hostage and interrupting everything from school to family vacations. We believe your child deserves care that actually addresses the problem instead of just waiting for it to go away. We partner with you to understand the root cause of your child’s symptoms so that all of you can reclaim your family’s freedom and get back to what you love.
About Pelvic PT for Children
No, children are not just tiny adults! They require specialized care that uses ideas they can understand and an approach that helps them stay engaged. At Rhea PT, we specialize in making pelvic health fun and age-appropriate.
Pelvic health physical therapy is best for children ages four and up. The treatment will focus on education, forming good pelvic health habits, and exercises that support pelvic health. Sometimes, we will use biofeedback to help children gain better control of their pelvic floor muscles.
Exercise is provided in the form of playful games to keep your child engaged, and education is done through pictures, books, models, and videos when needed. There is never an internal exam for children.
For children under the age of four, we provide coaching for you, the parent, so that you can support your child as they overcome their pelvic problems.
You deserve better than “just add more Miralax.”
Common Pediatric Bowel Issues We Can Help With
“Our 3 year old had chronic constipation, which was a huge barrier to potty training…Dr. Savannah helped him learn to poop while squatting and built his confidence. He is now fully potty trained with no difficulty using the toilet. We are beyond grateful for her care and expertise.”
