About Rhea
Wait. Who’s Rhea?
Our practice is named after the ancient Greek goddess Rhea (pronounced “ray-uh”), who was queen of the Titans and mother of the Olympians. She is best known for outsmarting her husband, Kronos. It had been foretold that Kronos would be overthrown by one of his children. To prevent this prophecy from coming true, Kronos devoured each of his children the moment Rhea delivered them.
By the time her last child, Zeus, was to be born, Rhea had decided she would no longer tolerate Kronos’s cruelty. She seized control of her fate. She hid baby Zeus away and handed Kronos a stone wrapped in blankets instead. Kronos ate up the stone. Zeus survived and eventually usurped his father, all thanks to his mother’s courage.
