Pediatric Urinary Issues

At Rhea PT, we understand that your child’s urinary problems can affect your entire family, interrupting play dates, school, family vacations, and daily life. We believe your child deserves care that actually addresses the problem instead of just waiting for it to go away. We partner with you to understand the root cause of your child’s symptoms so that all of you can get back to what you love.

About Pelvic PT for Children

No, children are not just tiny adults! They require specialized care that uses ideas they can understand and an approach that helps them stay engaged. At Rhea PT, we specialize in making pelvic health fun and age-appropriate.

Pelvic health physical therapy is best for children ages four and up. The treatment will focus on education, forming good pelvic health habits, and exercises that support pelvic health. Sometimes, we will use biofeedback to help children gain better control of their pelvic floor muscles.

Exercise is provided in the form of playful games to keep your child engaged, and education is done through pictures, books, models, and videos when needed. There is never an internal exam for children.

For children under the age of four, we provide coaching for you, the parent, so that you can support your child as they overcome their pelvic problems.

You deserve better than “they’ll grow out of it.”

“I took my five-year old in for some complex potty training issues, and they were all resolved quickly and completely. Dr. Savannah is equal parts physical therapist, teacher, counselor, and coach. She immediately made my daughter (and me!) feel comfortable, empathized with, and empowered.”
